Monel is a particularly inert alloy of nickel and copper suited for fixing stainless steel fittings to aluminium spars.

These rivets are supplied with plastic bungs to prevent water getting inside the spar when wet.

TIP: Note that Monel has a tendency to work-harden, so should you be drilling some rivets out to remove a fitting, use a sharp titanium coated drill under constant pressure.

TIP: When mounting new hardware, use a Duralac or Tef-Gel barrier between the stainless fitting and the aluminium to prevent corrosion.
