LogoMore than any other location, fire extinguishers on a boat, yacht or even rigid inflatable boats are absolutely crucial. Engine or galley fires can easily occur and in such event then the safety of the occupants is critical. For many vessels there is a legal requirement to carry the correct number of extinguishers which must be inspected each year.

The Fire Safety Stick is a new totally unique system which works like no other traditional extinguisher. In fact, it has so many advantages over the traditional water, powder, foam or CO₂ extinguishers, it really makes sense to keep the Fire Safety Stick close at hand on the boat.

FSS requires no maintenance or servicing. Traditional extinguishers must be serviced every year, regardless of whether the pressure gauge is still showing green. But the Fire Safety Stick (FSS) is not a pressurised system and so needs no servicing at all. In fact, even without any servicing, it has a proven shelf life of 10 years. Do forget that, even if you have maintained those old extinguishers every year, after just 5 years they must be correctly recycled and renewed. Just think of the overall expense you save with a FSS instead!

The Fire Safety Stick, leaves no mess or residue during activation. Typically you would have a powder or foam extinguisher but during discharge, they can create more damage than the fire itself. If activated over an engine, it will destroy that engine with its caustic contents. Being stuck at sea without working engine is far from ideal! We have heard back from FSS customers who have had an engine fire, extinguished it and still managed to use the engine afterwards to get home. Also, the FSS is totally water proof, it can still be activated whilst wet and once in use it is just as effective in the rain.

If you did have a fire, would you immediately know which type of extinguisher to use and importantly NOT to use? With the Fire Safety Stick that is no longer an issue because it works on all major types of fire. Classifications of fire include types A, B, C electrical fires and type F. Type F are cooking oils and fats in the galley – the type of fire you should never go near with a traditional fire extinguisher. But with the FSS, its no problem at all!

Another great feature of the Fire Safety Stick is depending on the size of the fire, capacity of the stick and size of the room or cabin, you can activate the stick and instead of fighting the fire yourself, simply leave it in the cabin, closing the door. The Fire Safety Stick will continue to emit its active molecules and suppress the fire accordingly.

The lightweight compact nature of the stick and that every one comes with a FREE mounting bracket, means that you can fit it to a wall or even inside a cupboard door so there is no need for a big bulky extinguisher getting in the way.

Of course the Fire safety Stick is not just for the boat, it’s ideal to keep close at hand in the home, car, caravan or motorhome, even your toolbox if you are a workman or engineer.
