Product Description

At the heart of the Oyster 6HP lies Selva’s innovative 135 cc OHC four-stroke engine, designed to provide responsive power delivery and minimal fuel consumption. The overhead-cam configuration gives precise valve timing and optimised airflow, enhancing combustion efficiency across the 5 000–5 500 rpm range. This setup delivers higher torque at lower speeds while keeping mechanical noise to a minimum. The refined carburetion system maintains smooth acceleration and excellent throttle response, ensuring the engine performs confidently whether cruising, trolling, or manoeuvring close to shore.

Built from corrosion-resistant aluminium alloy, the Oyster 6HP combines lightness with long-term durability. Its compact casing houses a reinforced lower unit and Long Shaft (L) configuration that provides deeper propeller immersion for greater thrust and directional stability. Selva’s multi-layer marine coating protects against saltwater corrosion, while the pump-forced water-cooling system keeps operating temperatures stable during extended use. The streamlined cowl and accessible service points make maintenance straightforward, reducing downtime and keeping performance consistent season after season.

The manual recoil starter engages smoothly thanks to Selva’s low-effort assist mechanism, and the twist-grip tiller offers intuitive throttle control for precise manoeuvring. With a dry weight of roughly 30 kg, the Oyster 6HP is easy to carry, mount, or store between uses. Its balanced design and vibration-damping mounts keep noise and feedback to a minimum, ensuring a comfortable operating experience even over long periods. Straightforward service access to the oil sump, spark plug, and fuel filter makes routine upkeep quick and simple, ideal for owners who value convenience as much as reliability. Compact, efficient, and exceptionally clean-running, the Selva Oyster 6 HP 4-Stroke Outboard Engine (Long Shaft) offers the perfect balance of power, portability, and refinement for small-craft propulsion.
