Anodes

Anodes protect metal components on boats from galvanic corrosion by sacrificing themselves instead. Hull anodes safeguard the hull and underwater fittings, while engine anodes protect internal cooling systems and metal parts in inboard and outboard engines. Saildrive anodes prevent corrosion on the aluminium casing and components of saildrive units, and shaft & propeller anodes protect propellers, shafts, and surrounding metal parts, often fitted as collars or mounted on the propeller boss. Anode accessories include fixings, backing plates, and bonding wires to ensure secure installation. Anodes are available in zinc for saltwater, aluminium for salt and brackish water, and magnesium for freshwater applications.
