Paul Anderton
Service Centre Coordinator
Paul grew up near Wigan and went on to study Management Sciences at the University of Manchester. He began his career with Macces Trade, where he spent four years before moving to Total Oil for another four years. Despite a successful start in the corporate world, Paul took a significant pay cut to follow his passion for the marine industry, joining a university friend who founded Powerhouse Marine. Over the next 38 years, he played a key role in developing the business into the thriving company it is today. Following Marine Chandlery’s acquisition of Powerhouse Marine in September 2025, Paul chose to continue his journey and join the team at their store in North Shields. His role is Service Centre Coordinator, overseeing all incoming and outgoing parts, as well as managing the service centre diary. With decades of industry experience, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication and hands-on expertise to the company.

Over the years, Simon has built a strong reputation for his technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality service, and we’re delighted to have him bring that wealth of knowledge to our team.Outside of work, Simon leads a busy and active life. He’s a dedicated Dad to two grown-up children, enjoys spending time with his dog, and is passionate about Thai boxing, regularly involved in local fight shows. His energy and enthusiasm are already a great fit for the team.
Ben Reid
Service Technician
Ben Reid joins the Marine Chandlery team bringing a lifelong passion for boats and marine engineering. His journey began at just 13 years old in the Northeast, when during COVID his Dad gave him some outboards to fix. This hands-on experience sparked his curiosity, and set him on the path to becoming a self-taught marine technician. By the age of 18, Ben had already accumulated five years of hands-on experience and realised the true satisfaction of completing complex marine projects. He quickly discovered that marine engineering was more than a job, it was a craft he genuinely loved. Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time on his own boat in Loch Lomond and providing local safety coverage as far as Basenthwaite. He is also actively involved with the Red Seal Rescue Boats charity, always ready to lend a hand with repairs or rowing activities.Ben is excited to embark on this next chapter with Marine Chandlery, bringing his expertise, enthusiasm, and hands-on experience to the team.
